I have written a letter with her intentions and made contact with the auctioneer she was advised to take the car to. The finance company advised that the auction house who were a "professional company" would…

Hi, I just wondering if anyone had used or had any experiences with intensive driving courses. Is it a better way to go than the weekly lessons? I am 22 and have never driven before simply because I havent had an interest in it until recently. Any advice would be gratefully recieved

Car registered but no delivery
In January we ordered a new Fiat 500 from a main dealership. The car was supplied with a quoted delivery time of 6 weeks (which would be today), being supplied from a batch already ordered by the dealership. We agreed to register the car in January, so they can meet their targets in return for a discount. At the start of…

MOT/Service Advice
Toyota have called me letting me know my MOT and service are due in March. They've said if I have an intermediate service with them at £99, my MOT will be half price at £27.something. Is this good? My car is 5 years old in March and I bought it new from them. Are they likely to "find issues" with it as I'm not trading it…

Suzuki Alto Battery problem
Hi there, Just wondering if someone could advice on approx cost for replacing a car battery and the labour charges? I will be taking the car to the local garage so thought it might be easier if I had an approx cost idea in my mind. Also, then is it worth involving the breakdown co. for getting the labout cost back? Thanks

Buying untaxed car from dealer
Hi, I'm about to buy a secondhand car from a dealer. It has a current MOT to Jan 2013. At present it doesn't have any (valid) road tax. Also, the owner prior to the dealership was disabled and so it was previously taxed in the disabled class, which will no longer be valid when I own it. So I have some questions: * If it's…

Car written off!...How much?
Towards the end of last week, a driver crashed into the back of my car and took full liability. This morning an engineer came to inspect the damage and told me it would be written off. I am to expect market value for it. Its a P Reg Fiat Brava. 53000 miles. I heard of a web site that values the car based on the mileage and…

Gunk in windscreen washer
Hi all! Yesterday my rear washer nozzle blocked up completely, after poking it with a pin, some water did trickle out. In this water was what looked like tiny pieces of black mould/algae. After much poking and attempted squirting, I finally got it working as normal. I'm assuming all this gunge will still be lurking in the…

2nd hand car search...1.4diesel, 2.6k to spend..advice please??
Hi all! I'm not at all technically minded..! In my search for a 1.4diesel or less (to keep the £30 tax & econmy/low insurance) I've narrowed it down to Toyotal yaris (reliability & on pre-2005 no PDF filter-which Ive heard is good (!), & i think a cam chain not belt), Fiesta 1.4di as choice 2-depending on local…

Hyundai i30 2011 - Pros and cons
We are considering buying the above car at a price of £7500-£8000. We were hoping that other posters could provide their opinions on the advantages and disadvantages of this model, hyundai in general and, in particular, how comprehensive the 5 year warranty actually is as this is the main attraction to us. Thanks
