Fraud Problems with TravelJigsaw.com (carhire3000.com)
This is just a general (complaint?) to warn other potential users off hiring cars from traveljigsaw.com (currently being redirected to carhire3000.com). Last year my husband and I hired a car through traveljigsaw.com to enable us to take a relative around town who was visiting us as my husband did not have his own car at…

Motorbike Leathers Cleaner/Protector
I'm getting to the end of my pot of Renapur Leather Balsam which I bought at the NEC about 4 years ago. It's been great. Been used on all mine and my brothers leather and boots, not to mention various pairs of shoes and his non-biking leather jacket. Looking round the Renapur stuff is pretty expensive. Does anyone…

vauxhall astra making funny noise
for the past couple of weeks my astra has started making a loud noise similar to a diesel engine or a tractor or something. It does it intermittently - for example one day it will do it then for the next few it won't then it will start again. Normally it is really loud when you get to a roundabout or traffic lights or…

Pre heater when using Bio Diesel
I've been using Bio Diesel in my car (VW Bora TDI PD) for the past 6K miles. Tend to go with a mix of about 45L Bio and 5L Fossil. Sometimes the full tank completely Bio. The car runs fine and I don't want this thread to descend into weather Bio Diesel should be used or not. There's enough threads on that. The car runs…

Tips about negotiating a price for new car
Hi, I am in the market for a new or nearly new car so I spent a bit of time online researching prices for a car I was considering. I went into a dealer this morning to check on a demonstrator that was up for sale. I was very polite and courteous to the dealer but when I suggested that the price was too high as he was…

Car contract hire - is maintenance a good buy?
My company car is up for renewal in September and I've been getting quotes. I'm shocked to find prices have gone up by 30% in three years! As a result, I'm considering not including the maintenance package - are these really a good buy? My current car, a Golf V Bluemotion, has been serviced twice in 55000 miles, had the…

Selling car on eBay - bids at last minute?
I'm selling my car on eBay but I'm getting a bit worried because the auction only has two days left and it's currently at about half what I would be expecting it to sell for. Is this normal? Are people just holding out for the last few hours/minutes? There are over 100 "watchers" so guess this might be the case? Thanks!

Best cycle carrier - but no tow bar
Years ago we had one of the 'hatchbach rear window' type of cycle carrier but it never felt safe so we hardly ever used - maybe we never knew how to fix it properly. Anyway, fast forward 25 years and we've seen the tow bar carriers and I know we'd take our bikes camping with us if we had one of those but sadly neither mine…

Canceling Tax Disc?
Hey. I've just noticed on the spare car the tax runs out on the 31st of June. Seen as Monday is a bank holiday, is it possible to bring the tax disc in to perhaps, a post office on Tuesday (31st May) and cancel it on the spot? If so, that means I get a refund for the remaining month not used, correct? Thanks!
