My two and a half week old woke me at stupid O'Clock and so, as I was feeding him I switched on the TV and saw Tiff Needell advertising the above...

Anyone used it?

I'm not sure my wife would let me use it on her 59 Plate Clubman, but my 2000 X Passat...?

TIA

Alex

in answer to your question yes it works, i was just washing and polishing my black navara when my mate up the road told me about the body shield, not believing what he was saying we went to his newer hilux truck wich was absolutely filthy, he sprayed this stuff on neat dirt, wiped with one cloth and removed with another and the result was astonishing, i even checked to see if the dirt had scratched the paint work and it had`nt, needles to say i have just ordered myself a bottle

Same as 'Shine n go' from Turtlewax. This type of product has been around for a few years.
Interestingly when I was about to scrap a car, I decided to see if normal cheapo car polish would clean and shine without scratching, and yes, it cleaned without any scratches.

Mind you, I now use Mer and find it superb.

I have a similar product but I think I asked on here before why would anyone want to use a spray like that on heavy dirt? Yes the stuff I use (after I wash the car as normal) creates a great shine but I think if nothing else if you were to use it like tiff does you would be out a fortune on cleaning cloths.:)

I hate anything sold by these American style Sell-a-vision. Have you seen the muppets in the audience all selected and dressed, nodding their heads, pretending to be interested and impressed. There's a reason this stuff is on a TV channel, just as there is a reason that stuff is sold via multi-level marketing schemes - because whilst adequate the products are not really any good, are poor value and the posting and packaging costs are huge ranging from £3.95 to £7.95.

I believe this stuff - and stuff like it - is called a detailer's spray and used by those very keen on a clean car to finish.

Part of the dry dirt removal is down to the microfibre cloth, so always use one or two of those.

It's also called Greased Lightning and is the featured product for tomorrow - Sunday - on the Ideal World shopping channel.

More details on that by Googling the obvious.

It's not sold in many shops, but I understand Asda has recently started selling a similar product under yet another name, or it might be the Tiff one.

I meant to have a look last time I was in, but forgot.
  • I have used several of these sorts of products, Greased Lightening, Mer etc, and without doubt Bodyshield Pro is the best one particularly for the finish.

Notice how the people saying yes its a great product are new members?
How many slices of SPAM on your sandwich?

I think its rubbish and there are better products like those mentioned above.

Go on the car detailing sites, They wouldnt use it. What does that tell you?

If you need a product for a show finish, With no swirls in the paint etc. Then thats got to be worth a go.
If you dont want to spend that money, Then see what these guys used previously.

Sometimes the old product is more than enough and a fraction of the price.

I cringe a little at the thought of someone wiping dirt directly from the car without rinsing first. It will ruin the paintwork within a few months. Lunacy.
