My OH has been charged with speeding and has received a summons from the local magistrates court. He fully accepts responsibility and intends to plead guilty asap. However, I've just been reading the financial statement bit and I accept that they want to know his income and savings, but I've a couple of questions about the…

Hi Everyone, Any advice gratefully received - I know i was stupid though  On the 8/7/10 I purchased a car 'sold as seen' from a vehicle auction house. As I'd seen other vehicles with 'non runner' in the description I was happy to hope that the damn thing would at least get me home! I watched the car being started up…

Speed Cameras
I have received a notice of intended prosecution from the local police for exceeding the speed limit of 30mph by a camera device. The road where this offence took place doesn't have any fixed speed cameras, but I often see one of those police vans with the camera in the back pointing at the oncoming traffic on the road in…

Horse transportation. 4x4?
Hello I'm currently in the need of transport for a horse. Have ruled out a Hourse box as too expensive to run/mantain a 3rd vehical. So left with buying a used 4x4 and trailer. Child bus fares in your area.
I am just curious about what children are charged to travel on buses around the country. Where I live, in Hertfordshire, they are charged half fare as long as they have a "Saver Card", for which they have to pay £10. I think under 5's go free. My daughter is about to turn 16 in September and I have received a letter saying…

Humour - Don't pick on a bus!
My brother in law is a bus driver and I had the pleasure of his company last night at a family barbie. Listening to him you would honestly think bus drivers had the worst job in the world, transporting the most heinous type of unwashed cattle to slaughter :rotfl:That said, there were some interesting gems in the…

OFFICIAL MOT Testing Station List
Don't know about you folks, but each year finding an 'honest' MOT testing station that won't rip you off seems to be getting harder. Part of the problem is *finding* an MOT station in the first place (those that shout and advertise can often be the worst offenders). With that in mind here is the OFFICIAL downloadable list…

DVLA fine for not informing change ownership
Hi - I sold a van on ebay in 2008, buyer collected & signed V5 slip which I sent off to DVLA. Around 8 months later, DVLA sent me a letter saying someone else has applied to tax it. If I didn't respond, they would issue the tax, so I had no problem with that. In 2009, while I was in hospital, a fine notice was sent as they…

On top of this I think my car probably isn't going to last much longer, and is quite…

Driving Test Appeal??
May be risking a bashing here, but here goes....;) I had my driving test today, everything going smoothly, until the examiner routed me down a narrow country lane.
