More AA extortion....
Hi, Last month I attempted to cancel my AA breakdown cover and go on my wife's policy to savfe money - since we now have 1 car between 2 of us. Despite having 10 months left to run, and 7 month's on my wife's policy, the AA said they would not pay a single penny back if I cancelled my policy, and they would not allow me to…

Has anyone also had problems with mycarcheck.com. Am filing complaint against them.
Would love to hear from anyone who has had problems with this lot as they're incredibly rude and personally insulting when I called/emailed trying to recover my money that they deceptively charged me.

Breakdown/relay Cover
Just got my AA renewal through today: £102, rang them to cancel because I knew I could get something similar for half that, which I told them. Went through the usual process of them offering lower and lower discounts until they realised my mind was made up and then they offered to waive the roadside fee, so I just pay for…

Car Raffle
My son has built (over the last 4 years) a Classic style Road legal, track day mini with an RSX1300R Hayabusa engine, ready to be registered on an 09 plate. It cost over £20k to build and he needs to sell it to pay back his dad. In these difficult economic times however, no one wants to fork out such a large amount of…

Do I need car finance?
Hi, Having seen all the reports about large car inventories and discounts available I was thinking about buying a car. I have never bought one before - do I need to get financing? I do have enough savings to buy one for £7000-8000 outright - would it be more advisable to get some sort of financing? Many thanks for any tips

If were given a parking ticket at Tonbridge
Market car park last Saturday (11th), then don't pay it!! It appears that an over-zealous parking attendant arrived at the Market Car park and saw approx 200 cars with no pay and displays. He then started to dish out penalty notices (14 in total). This car park is a Season Ticket Holder one for commuters between Monday and…

Getting insurance with foreign licence
My daughter's boyfriend is French, has lived in the UK for three years and has had a French licence for four years. I've just given my daughter my old banger and she wants him to drive it (her own licence is just a few months old). We were told that it's hard for him to get insurance because of the foreign licence, that he…

Average millage on S/H diesel car, van
I have been told when looking for second hand cars or vans (petrol) that average millage to look for is Years x 10,000mls. i.e a 5yr old car should have a millage of around 50,000. However I'm looking into purchasing a diesel car/van ( i have an offer on a van at the moment) would the same rules apply to a diesel. Thanks…

Can any of you recommend anywhere and have you ever asked for a discount because you are buying all 4 in one go? I've only ever needed two before but these ones haved been rotated and are probably only just…

Toyota verso or VW Touran?
We have a 6-year-old Renault Scenic but would like a 7-seater car (3 children + their friends and various relatives). We're looking at either the Verso or the Touran (probably go for one around a year or two old with relatively low mileage) and have test-driven both. Anyone got any comments about either of these?

I have had it regularly serviced at an approved Ford Garage and it currently sits at 63,000 miles. It has ran perfectly until today, I got into the car to start it and it wouldn't.…

Car sharing
Evening all, I wonder if someone could give me some advice, I get a lift to work with a "friend" the journey is 63 miles each way and they drive a 1.3 ka. They are adamant that they put in £400 a month for this journey and dont use the car at weekends etc I think £200 a month is excessive anyone have any opinions? Thanks
