if you are really struggling online get of your !!!!! and get down to halfords and use thier flip chart thingys to identify your battery.then get to a local motor factors and get one cheaper than halfords.

we rang halford and they couldn't find one well not the one local to us.

this was my last place to go i have like i said googled the earth for this.

there was two batteries at a company local to us one was a 005 and one was a 088 but the car we bought didn't come with a battery so that wasn't really any help.

is it the 2.0 or the 2.5 v6? there will be a differance in battery size, well i would imagine there is. i found this http://www.tayna.co.uk/
im sure youve already been there though.

    try an owners forum perhaps?

it should be a bit cheaper then, and a bit more popular, it should be the same capacity as 2.0 modeo or focus,im not sure which side the positive should be at or weather its flat or round posts

I'm surprised your local Ford dealer couldn't source one or advise the type required.

You have tried the most obvious answer haven't you?

I am fairly sure the Ford Probe is a Mazda in disguise, will a Mazda battery fit?

Yuasa list it as a type 111 which also fits a Mazda Xedos 6 & 9. Some other suppliers list a type 58 which is Yuasa do not cover.

I know the 2.5 is the Mazda unit, not sure on the 4 pot tho.

OP - you bought a car with no battery? did I read that right? lol.

Phone some motor factors as they will be cheaper than Ford.
  • hello

the car was driven with a different battery and works if you jumpstart it but won't charge up.

we are pretty sure that it is the 058 thank you for all your help
