Needing 4 new tyres

I'm needing four tyres 195 60/15 V. I've looked around online and the best I can find so far is £48 each fitted. Can any of you recommend anywhere and have you ever asked for a discount because you are buying all 4 in one go? I've only ever needed two before but these ones haved been rotated and are probably only just going to get through the mot next month.

I was quoted £350 buy a well known chain of companies when I needed all mine replaced. I found a small local garage who kept alot of tyres in the back.
They found the ones I needed, checked they were still working (no air getting out etc) fitted them and inflated them. All in all for the 5 tyres (Spare aswell had gone) it cost me £75 or £15 per tyre.
I would look for a local garage and ask them.
ETA: Mine were second hand tyres btw. They were as good as new, but had come off other cars. Never had a problem with them.I know my spelling is shocking  It is alot better than it used to be though :rotfl:0 -
Used to be able to do that with a local garage but the owner retired and the business closed.
I know there will be quite a few people on here say cheap tyres are a false economy but these tyres have done over 30,000 miles and 2 or 3 years ago I certainly did not pay more than £40 each fitted.
Do you still get remoulds? Don't think I would buy them now but interested to know if you still get them. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

They're not cheap tyres, just cheaper. I used to do about 12,000 miles a year, and the ones I got for £75 lasted me just over 2 years.
Shame your local garage has closed now
. Dont know where else to suggest unless you phone around
heres are some that are fitted in Scotland:

Here are recycled tyres:

You might be able to phone a few company's from Yell and see if theres anywhere around you that is cheaper?I know my spelling is shocking  It is alot better than it used to be though :rotfl:0 -
The cheaper tyres don't contain as much rubber as the premium tyres, that's why they are cheaper. They contain carbon, which doesnt last as long. I always put part worn premuim brand stuff on cars at work. Get them up18inch one for 35quid with 5/6mm on and they will last twice as long as a brand new LingLong etc for the same price...0

Same situation as you last month, local garages were charging me £98 per tyre for my jeep, i needed 4, local garages would knock off a couple of quid but their mark up is low.
Looked on ebay and got 4 for £120, sorted my own courier, dhl all in all cost me £140 for 4 + 5 per tyre to get it fitted balanced etc.
look in ebay under your tyre measurements, well worth a go.IMO :-)0 -
Thanks everyone. Do you know if Costco still do the cheaper tyres? Kossoman or something? I would probably lose any saving made in petrol just to get there but I'm needing to do a Costco shop in the next month or so so might be worthwhile waiting. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

I had 4 tyres a few weeks ago from National Tyres, it cost about £238 I think, including tracking and balancing. Have to say though I didn't shop around - I went partly to get Clubcard points too, but was told they stopped it in January!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked

Costco only sell Michelin tyres now.
£48 is a reasonable price for tyres that size. Tyre prices have increased markedly over the last couple of years. 2 years ago I paid about £50ish for a Michelin for my Dads Micra. This year I paid £79 for the same tyre. The man without a signature.0 -
have a look for someone who can supply Maxis Tires. They seem to be cheap and a reasonably good tyreHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE Forum Team0
