Tyres are the only part of the car touching the road.

I bought those 2 of those exact tyre sizes today from Event tyres (online company).
The tyres are Falken ZE912 and cost £119 fitted and balanced at my home. I paid the chap once his job was done. He also took away the old tyres.
I wouldn't skimp on tyres either, they are the only thing that holds you to the road.

Costco only sell Michelin and they aren't that cheap any more.

Michelin Energy Tyres - due to the saving on fuel one tyre will end up being free, so that's you down to the cost of three well made, safe tyres, they are also manuafactured in the UK in many cases - I know, I live in a Michelin town.;)

Might cost a bit more, but they'd be worth it in the long term, imho.;)

McConnecy's were doing buy 3 get 4th free on Michelins until end of MArch, hunt around for a good deal and you may be surprised.

Aha, i know where you live:p. I might actually be there next week so will have a wee drive round and see if i can find any offers while there.

Unfortunately Event tyres don't do my area - probably too far north.

Thanks for all your options everyone. Got the good news of an interview next week so if I get that job the price wont be an issue. I'll keep looking around anyway in the meantime.

    My thoughts exactly!

Look out on ebay, I got my bargains from there, 4 18" contisports (£160 new each), 2 @ £45 and 2 @ £80 each, they had 7.5mm tread all round, new tyres only have 8mm! Just have to lurk around for a bit though keeping an eye on what gets listed as buy it now, not whats due to end if that makes sense?!

balls, its not about price, they can be cheap and also safe, i use and often advise folk on here to try federal 595 super steel tyres, they can be got for £200 for a full set, i give mine a hard time in the wet and dry and they last well and grip well. im on my 2nd set and they also look quite good to.
i would say they are great value for money.

I phoned round a load today and for 185/60/14s prices ranged from £35 for budget to £55 for decent tyres. That's inc fitting and VAT.

Do your research and then call the main dealer. The first price they quote will be high but just say you can get them cheaper, you might be pleasantly surprised.
