Dealer Service - is it necessary?
Hi, I have a 2006 Focus I bought from a dealership last year. It's due a service and my local Ford dealer is offering services 'from £175' - from being the operative word! I have a good independent garage - do I really need a dealership service? Does it really affect the value that much? Thanks M

Headlight bulb. Halfords or Poundland?
Hello I'm fitting a headlight bulb (which has a code H4 or 472). (Highly annoying and fiddling to fit) Poundland has them for £1 including a few smaller bulbs. The brand is "Lifetime cars" Halfords charge a fair bit more The question is, is the Poundland bulb good enough? I know it might not last as long, but will it be as…

judging car battery condition from charge rate fall-off
Bit of a daft one for any car 'leccies. Don't use car much. Decided to charge the battery roughly every six weeks using a standard rate charger. Does the fact that the charge rate starts at say, 7 whatsits on the charger, and within half an hour has dropped to 3 or 4, actually give any indication as to the condition of the…

MINI ONE v MINI COOPER
I want a mini so much!!! I have looked at the one and cooper versions, but not sure which to get. There doesn't seem to be much difference except the colour of the roof and a £1000! Is the cooper really worth the extra cash or is it just street cred? I am not a 17 year old boy racer BTW!

We went on to have a conversation about the RAC and that the garage was where RAC had all their annual meetings. The garage…
