MINI ONE v MINI COOPER
I want a mini so much!!!
I have looked at the one and cooper versions, but not sure which to get.
There doesn't seem to be much difference except the colour of the roof and a £1000!
Is the cooper really worth the extra cash or is it just street cred?
I am not a 17 year old boy racer BTW!

brand new?
what are the residuals like between the two? Also, aren't they noticably different in any other cosmetic way, bodywork, the interior etc etc???Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -
Yes new.
Im female! What are residuals?
I have just looked it up on google and it says ' trees left standing after harvesting'! Don't think thats right somehow!
The bodywork
The cooper....., 1.6, coloured wing mirrors, roof can be black, white or body coloured.
The one......grill looks different, 1.4, wing mirrors are black, roof is same as body.
Just wondered if anybody knew if the cooper is actually worth the extra cash or has driven/owned either.:money: Martin Lewis Rocks!:money:0 -
sorry, I meant how much more a cooper is worth, than a one, say after a year.
I'd go for something a year old if you want to save a bit of cash.
looking on autotrader, the cooper goes for £12800 new, whilst the one goes for £11500.
after a year, you should be able to get a cooper for about 2k less, although it depends on whether you want the car to be brand new I suppose.
have you looked at parkers.co.uk? They will give you more info about each car, and also have owners reviews on the site.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -
Coopers rock. I wouldn't swap ours for a One.0
-
The engine size is the difference!! the 1.4 does 0 - 60 in 10.9 the cooper 9.1 secs top speeds are 115 vs 126 MPH.
Does any of this matter to you?
On the whatcar website (have a look) it says a One will cost £9300 over 3yrs 36k miles a cooper will cost £10300.0 -
Well 70mph is the speed limit so top speed doesn't matter to me!
Will have a look at what car
Thanks xx:money: Martin Lewis Rocks!:money:0 -
have a go in both.
i would imagine the cooper to have more toys in it than the base level "one".
and the cooper will be easier to sell on in future....work permit granted!0 -
You'll be FAR better off, if you 'personalizzzze' a dearer car, to start with - which is exactly what you're expected to do with MINI.
There is little point in spending more on a cheaper/lower range model, of ANY make, as the options you choose, will simply make it a dear car. So when you sell on again, your £$£$ spent will have disappeared, where a more expensive, next model up, in a range, will still be a more desirable, higher value, used.
I am speaking generally, of course, it's only when you get into some of the bigger cars, with say, large petrol engine, costing more than a diesel equivelent, perhaps less spec, but a bigger used market for it.
& anyway, you should be buying the car YOU want, as it's YOU that'll pay for it& drive it for next few years!!
Plus have you checked the deals available, not just the dealer that's got the cars you fancy?? Check http://www.honestjohn.co.uk look in the BEST DEALS page & you'll soon see if you're paying the right price!! Also look at the Car by Car Breakdown page, on there too - it'll tell ALL about MINI (& every other make n model)
Plenty clever repayment options, around, too. Doozergirl will post her comments here shortly....

ONE will be harder to sell and looks rather basic compared to the COOPER.0
