Hi all

Need to buy a new car seat for my 13 month old LO and looking around there are so many and I know some dont fit all cars. I was just wondering if any of you have previously bought car seats for either of the following two cars, a 2000 Skoda FAbia or a 2004 MG-ZT. We checked the Britax website and the ones suggested for the MG dont fit properly when we went to Mothercare.

Any help would be much appreciated

First check if the MG has Isofix. If it does (I know the skoda does) then without doubt go for an Isofix seat, especially if you are going to be moving the seat back & forward between the two cars.

We have used a Britax Isofix duo in a fabia & would highly recommend it

Getting an Isofix to fit two cars could prove very difficult - we tried and it was impossible.

One car has a Maxi Cosi the other a Recaro, both seat belt fastened. Both have good and bad points. For comfort the Recaro wins hands down, but they are expensive.

Skoda should be able to get Recaro child seats in at a reasonable rate. We certainly can at VW and Ive bought them in from Audi before, so im sure they'd use the same supply...

why not just buy two seats? quite a few places have half price sales (Halfords, maybe mothercare, mama & papas)

I have two seats in my car, my wife has two seats in hers for our kids. much more flexible, when one drops off, the other picks up.

markelock We probably will buy two seats but thats not the problem really.

Our problem is that we cant find one to fit in the MG-Zt properly which is the car that I generally use with my LO and so wondered if anyone else had bought seats for the same car.
