Out of those three, Polo will be worst value, as people think of VW's olden days image of reliability, so you'll get an older car for your £$£$. Not always correct assumption.

Fiat will give you exactly opposite, despite the Italians making VERRRRY good small cars!!

Corsa, is popular choice, as it's modern looking car & plenty about, so good value.

You didn't mention Fiesta, for some reason - again a volume produced model, lots of spec choices & plenty around.

At your budget, I'd look for the best value, in condition, number of owners, any service history, for any you get too look at, then decide.

Quite often people choose the same make as they learened in, so thet'd be a good starting point. But you'r instructors Corsa (or whatever, is a lot different to the ones you'll look at, so do make sure you're comfortable with whichever you choose.

  • Dont rule out the Seat Ibiza, you may get a 2002 model new shape at that money.

I am looking for 2006/2007 model for 4.5k-5.5k

    yup

all small cars are pretty good

you get good and bad examples of everything, just take each car on a case by case basis

    I wouldn't waste £2k on a Ford Ka personally.

How about a Skoda Fabia, better built quality than VW and Seat and in essence
VW Polo with a Skoda badge. 1.4 8v is based on an old Skoda engine. 1.2 htp is a more recently designed Skoda engine. I believe the rest are VW engines. Skoda badge means cheaper to buy and more for your money - but if you're bothered about looking "cool"....

Bear in mind insurance group is not the only determining factor of insurance cost and with some insurers different cars in the same group will be cheaper/more expensive.

You don't see the outside of it when you're driving!
