Berlingo windscreen washer problem
My 2002 Berling 1.9 van has just failed its MOT because the windscreen washer doesn't work. I'd taken it to a local authority site and the guy there gave me the chance to put it right before he did the form. The best hope was that it was a fuse. Unfortunately the handbook doesn't list a fuse for the washer & so I wasn't…

Car broken into - Repair/Report?
Hi, I left my house this morning to find that someone had broken into my car (Ford Escort). Nothing was taken, as there was nothing to take, but there is a hole next to the drivers door lock where they forced in a screwdriver. The lock still works but I'm wondering what is the best way to go about repairing it? Do I need…

Warranty Claim - Reg Vardy = useless
Had strange problems with my car so took it to the dealer. Dealer phoned me at about 1pm on the day and said they'd investigated and that the brake disks had somehow become warped and needed replacing, and the warped disks had also knackered the brake pads. So I phoned the warranty companies 'claims line'. Could'nt get an…

Importing cars - how does it affect C02 bands?
I ask because I just looked at an Isuzu van pickup on the DVLA vehicle enquiry It is currently taxed at the 2007 rate It was manufactured in 2005 It has a zero rating for C02 And a tax cost of £180 which is the 2007 rate for a pre 2001 (non banded car). The only reason I can think for this is that it is an import from…

IWA.....New Car!
Want to buy a new, small car for the wife. Probably 2 door, but something a bit nippy (has an '03 Corsa 1.2, not much power). With the Credit Crunch, I am seeing more 0% finance etc deals around (Citroen and Renault in todays paper). Anyone seen anything exceptional at all? Thanks

Mondeo heater problems...
New to this site. I currently have a 2001 new shape Mondeo Ghia X 2.0 diesel. This morning the heater would only blow cold air, no matter what temperature I set the climate control too. The coolant level is fine, the cooling fan cuts in as it should and the temp guage on the dash seems to read normal. Does anyone have any…

Restrictions on discounts through London travel zones
Apologies if this has already been asked/answered, but I can't seem to get a straight answer on this one. I have a TFL travelcard valid to the boundary of Zone 2, so when I travel into London on my local main-line, I get a small discount off my fare. This has always been the case in the 6 years I've been travelling on this…

MOT at Nationwide Autocentre
I had my car ( it is just 3 years old now) serviced at a local Nationwide Autocentre garage six months ago. Then, they pointed out that the shock absorbers, both front and back, needed changing. However, because they didn't have the parts, I was advised to take up their MOT guarantee, an insurance covering any faults at…

I am about to change cars. I currently have a Renault Scenic 1.5 Dci Diesel. But I am thinking about changing for a Petrol version. Police Warning Notice - No Tax
I had a "Police Warning Notice" attached to my windscreen today, for failing to display a tax disc. The tax disc was no longer attached to the inside of the windscreen - the glue has worn off and there's just a ring-mark to show where it used to be. The disc was and has been placed on the dashboard, directly underneath the…

Tower Bridge apparently has a 20mph speed limit, stupidly I didn't notice and drove across at 30mph at around 5am one Thursday morning. I received a speeding ticket letter, which I duly completed and returned. Two days later, I received another ticket saying I was speeding in the opposite direction on the same bridge…
