Hello, I'm sure someone will have asked this before but I can't find any posts that match our situation. If anyone would be kind enough to give your considered opinion it would be a great help to this very befuddled person! We have a lifetime tracker with the woolwich which we've been on for 4.5 years. A rate of 3.19%.…

Hi, I read recently that even after you have split up with someone who you have had a joint account with and a mortgage that they can still be affecting your credit report? I have been paying (admittedly only a small amount of £20 per month to Shoosmiths) for about 15 years. Octobers payment was not taken from may bank so I called…

Our financial situation dipped dramatically after losing several key clients in a space of a month. I used to work with my partner as we were both self-employed in the same industry, so the lose effected us both. We…

I've completed honestly the calculator for a nationwide mortgage and they told me what they would be prepared to lend me. I found a house and have obtained a decision in principle for less than the amount they said they would be prepared to lend. I've gone with nationwide because I am a single mum and have…

Adding a partner to the mortgage
I have a house which I bought 4 years ago with my ex-partner, who I 'bought out' of her share of the property when she moved out. I would now like to add my new partner to the mortgage. I'm aware of the procedures and legal fees involved in doing this, but the problem lies in the increased value of the property. We've had…

Mortgage on shares and taxes
Hi Suppose one takes out £50k from a mortgage on their shares in a public company. If no repayment was made and the shares were forfeited, the £50k would be essentially tax-free. Also, the lender wouldn't be able to screw you over by selling cheap as well. Am I missing something here? Cheers

Having just saved up a deposit I'm now starting to look into buying my first home with my wife. I've never done anything like this before and I am completely naive about what to do.
