Letter from Leeds BS

Hi all,

I have submitted my full mortgage offer to Leeds BS, and I've received a letter today which I'm hoping is a good sign but it doesn't seem to say much. It says:

'Thank you for your recent application. I confirm that the society has carried out an initial assessment and we are currently liaising with your introducer to advise of any outstanding requirements in order that a mortgage offer can be produced ASAP. This mortgage offer will be sent to you and to your introducer as soon as it is available. Call your broker/us if you have any questions. Your home may be repossessed if...'

Is this a good sign that I've got past the initial assessment part? Or is this more just a confirmation that they've received my app?

It doesn't seem to be too clear to me (could be a classic case of operator error though!). The broker has had no request for extra info yet either.

It is a classic Lender's method of 'providing regular updates' by talking nonsense, saying nothing, and causing confusion.


Ignore all updates sent by the Lender and refer to your broker to update you.
