Mortgage already approved, can I borrow 10k extra?
We have survey done, mortgage approved, starting searches soon. However, would like borrow extra 10k from lender to go towards home improvement. With extra 10k, it won't exceed the LTV. Wondering how difficult or easy it will be. Don't want it to delay the progress. Would it be treated as new application? Thx!

Where is my mortgage offer letter?
I'm starting to panic now. C&G branch say they have processed everything for the mortgage to be offered and even printed out a duplicate offer letter in the branch for me. But the one I need to sign is the original one they send to me and copy to my solicitor. Neither of these have arrived yet even though the branch told…

Adverese Credit Rating... Not My Fault!
Can someone please help! I have recently applied for a mortgage from Accord, through a broker, and this was refused. Apparently my credit rating shows 5 missed payments from Barclaycard. Earlier this year I paid off the full balance of my credit card in full and closed the account. I was not told that there was a payment…

Another mortgage declined :(
Feeling very fed up - just had our mortgage application declined. We have a 28% deposit and can demonstrate that even without my wife working we would build up to a significant cash position within the 5 year fix. Given our financial record keeping we can look back at our last 5 years spending vs income, typical costs for…

I'm enquiring for a relation who has a private (legitimate) source of income. The income is variable as to both amount and frequency, but can be seen going through his bank account. What he does isn't classified as self-employed either, so he couldn't self-certify. Under the circumstances I can't think of a bank or…

Are mortgages that hard to get?
You may have seen my other thread on here, mortgage multipliers or actual affordability. I am in a bit of a situation where the amount we want would mean about 4 times joint income.
