Where is my mortgage offer letter?

I'm starting to panic now. C&G branch say they have processed everything for the mortgage to be offered and even printed out a duplicate offer letter in the branch for me. But the one I need to sign is the original one they send to me and copy to my solicitor. Neither of these have arrived yet even though the branch told me last Monday it should be in the post. All sorts of things going through my mind like they've done so many credit checks it's been declined at the last minute or they've run out of money because it's the end of the month or something. God they sure know how to make a stressful time even worse!

If they have printed a copy for you in branch, don't worry, it means they have agreed and issued it, maybe technical problems with post, see if they can get them re-issued.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. If necessary, they can always DX another original to your solicitor. Relax - if you'd been declined they'd tell you you've been declined. You can't get a copy printed out in a branch for a case which has been tipped out can you?I am a mortgage broker. For peace of mind, you can try calling the head office yourself and ask to speak with Mortgage Department. Ask them about the current status of your application.Nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. - Alex Supertramp0

Thanks so much for the reassurance everyone! I know I probably sound a bit silly but this is such a stressful time, the more I think about things the more i come up with all these irrational thoughts about what might be happening!0

I'll ring them tomorrow morning and ask. If they posted it last week hopefully they will re-send it. I'm getting pressure from further up the chain because everyone else is ready to exchange!0 -
Rang C&G call centre this morning. They can't help because application was made in branch. Rang branch, mortgage advisor on holiday all week and branch manager not in today. Letter didn't arrive in today's post. Literally tearing out my hair now.0

Seems some glitch in C&G's system stopped the letters from being sent out. The branch manager has now printed out what my conveyancer needed. Transferring my deposit tomorrow and hoping to exchange on Friday. Just waiting for the searches to come back now! :j0

I know how you are feeling, my app isn't as far advanced as yours and I'm feeling the stress of it all too much
Gald that you seem to be there now, hope it all goes well from now on0 -

Thanks so much!! I can't believe how stressful house buying is! I lost so many nights sleep worrying about if I would get a mortgage. I've never borrowed money before and in a way I found it hard to believe anyone would lend me a load! I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and thinking about actually moving in to the new house. I hope all goes smoothly for you0
