Orange PayG plan - question
Hi, I am using Orange PayG since October 2005. Because of this, I pay 35p for calls outside Orange. If I activate a new SIM card, I would get a much better rate, 15p a minute I think. And here is the question - is there any way of changing the plan, so that I get the better rate? I don't want to change my number. Would…

Save money - dont stick on your old plan
With all this advertising for O2's Simplicity, I decided I was well overdue a review of my mobile. I have been on O2 for years, I had an old O2 30 rate (30 mins anytime free) paying about £14 a month. Obviously Simplicity was a much better deal so I ordered my new SIM and phoned to transfer my O2 number over. I was told…

What are 'Service messages' ?
Hi, can anybody tell me what service messages are? I assumed they were from O2 (my network) and previously have been stuff like updates but I had a surprising one this evening suggesting I download something I'd rather not share on here. O2 customer services are having problems so no explanation forthcoming there. These…

Virgin to charge for 07744 and 07755 numbers
Hi, Got a text from Virgin yesterday. They are going to follow other mobile providers and going to charge for 07744 and 07755 numbers from 10.9.07 at rate of 35 p/min. No mobile service provider now lets you dial 07744 and 07755 numbers free of charge, as part of inclusive minutes. Luxury of calling internationally free is…

Launch Dates for New Handsets on Networks
Are there any decent online sources (bar the networks own websites) that indicate when a new handset is likely to be launched onto particular uk networks? I ask as the SE P1 (my next phone of choice) is now available through O2, and whilst i can get a very attractive offer on it as a new connection, there is a certain wish…

Did O2 steal my money??
Our Pay as You Go sim was deactivated by O2 as we had not used it for a while. This practice is dangerous, as it may leave a vulnerable person with no access to emergency help. However, my complaint is this: They not only refused to reactivate it BUT ALSO KEPT ALL THE CREDIT!! Surely the credit is mine, not theirs. Why…

A warning if you have an Orange mobile contract
They have just started charging for SMS delivery reports, only 0.09p each, admittedly, but they haven't publicised it! I rang them and have got 84p off my bill as a refund for what they charged me. I've turned off the delivery reports too via my handset. It's not on in my book, giving out free SMSs to everyone and then…

thephonespot (e2save) cashback time
Hi guys. I did have a look through the forums, but I couldn't find an answer to this (I know I should have done, as it's bound to have been asked many a time). Anyway, I was hoping that someone could help me out with when I need to send in my cashback for my claim. I took a 12 month contract out on 12th March, but because…
