With all this advertising for O2's Simplicity, I decided I was well overdue a review of my mobile.
I have been on O2 for years, I had an old O2 30 rate (30 mins anytime free) paying about £14 a month. Obviously Simplicity was a much better deal so I ordered my new SIM and phoned to transfer my O2 number over.
I was told that I didnt need a new SIM, if I wanted to change tarrifs I could, and keep teh same SIM (and number.)
They asked me if I wanted a new phone, I said no, I use old second hand phones that do quaint things such as RING and make phone calls, not take photos or play music. They then offered a £100 credit to my account instead!
So, I now pay £15 a month, get 200 minutes and 200 texts, and won't have to pay the £15 for 6 months. Not bad for a phone call. Anyone else who has not reviewed or changed their tarrif in the last 12 months, well worth doing so.

Plus the simplicity tariff is 200 minutes and 400 text for £15.0

IF you do it via the website. Otherwise its 200 texts.
Looking back, whoever my O2 provider is (no idea of the top of my head) has matched the O2 simplicity rate and given me £100 credit. Yes, they did say it tied me in for another 12 months, but Im not that fussed as I wasnt going anywhere anyway.
200 mins/200 texts is still way more than I use each month anyway , either way over the next year I will save a lot more than I am on at present.0
