What to do
I don't know what to do. I posted in a previous post that I was living apart from my husband while I sorted out some issues. I've been seeing a counsellor. I can appreciate that it's not the most ideal situation but my OH won't talk about us and how we fix things. Today he has told me that we have x number of weeks to fix…

Meeting my biological father: opinions wanted.
Hi all, Bit of background first, the marriage of my mum and biological father (here-on referred to as 'X') broke down just over 26 years ago, when I was 18 months and my older sister was 3/4 years only. Mum won custody of us. When I was four, mum remarried (I accepted him quickly to become my 'dad'), a year or so later my…

When to tell the children you are splitting up
Dh and I are splitting up. I am not sure when to tell our children (13 and 11). Should we tell them soon, or wait a while till we have some certainties to tell them i.e. who is moving out and when where they will be living etc. I would be grateful for your opinions.

Being a minister's wife
My husband has expressed an interest in becoming a minister with the Church of Scotland and has begun inquiring about the process. I'm fully supportive of this but am wondering what the expectations on me would be if any. I have my own career and although I consider myself a very moral person I'm not a Christian (I'm…

Article written about you - how to receive a copy
Firstly I am sorry if this is in the wrong place - I wasn't 100% where it would go but I am looking for some advice. Long story short, when I was young an incident happened upon returning from a holiday in Cyprus and the press were alerted. The big newspaper in Scotland and a few women's magazines interviewed my mother and…

Neighbours' son may be drug dealing
As the title says, I think one of my neighbours' sons may be drug dealing. He is about 19/20 and does not work. I do ironing for a living and stand by my front window to do this. Their house is directly opposite mine. I often see him come out and walk down the road and about 5 or 10 minutes later he comes back. I have…

How much allowance for teenagers?
Morning all. :) I am trying to work out a reasonable amount for an all-in monthly allowance for teenagers of 15 and 16? Legal Rights in Scotland
I would be grateful if anyone could clear up something for me. My father died recently. He left a will and I was named as the sole beneficiary. However, my brother, who died in 2004, had 2 children from 2 separate relationships, i.e. my father's grandchildren. I understand that IF my father had NOT left a will, then under…

Unclear Will, don't know if I'm entitled
My father recently passed away and we are unable to find his will. However, we do have my grandfathers will who stated that his wife could remain in his house until she dies but on her death it would pass to my Father. As he has died, we are now unsure of where everybody stands. We have been to 3 solicitors who all have…
