More hours in the day?
Me and my friends were trying to arrange some time to get together and the chat got round to how we are all just sooo busy. However one of them said she didn't have time to do anything because she had to go to her mums everyday to do her washing and housework and then go home and do her own in the afternoon and cook her…

Saved up vouchers - dropped and lost :(
I'm really bummed out :( Yesterday in Tesco I unknowingly dropped a whole heap of vouchers i'd been saving up and no-one could find them. A lot of them were for baby items, I was keeping them to make starter packs (wipes, nappies, cotton wool, nappy bags etc) for two of my pregnant friends as gifts and the rest were for my…

100% school attendance now will not be..
My son,12 is very proud of his 100% school attendance and will have his name(along will all the other 100% kids) put in a box to win a bike at the end of this school year, which has been on exhibit all the way through the year on the ceiling in the gym room. Eldest says the chances of his name being picked are slim but…

My wish today to my Magical Fairy Godmother is
... to tell the chocolate makers to stop producing round tins. I appreciate that it makes the amount of chocolate being offered look like more, and they make excellent cake tins. However, we've had years and years and years of these tins, and I'm sure that most people now have enough cake tins. I would like the tins to be…

Moving house - MIL being a nightmare.
My wife and I moved to the same village as my inlaws almost 10 years ago. Mainly because my wife didn't want to move far from her parents at the time, and in fairness it made financial sense as the property prices were very affordable for us. Some background before I go much further might be required to make this…

KS2 SATS & handling the pressure
Just need to vent... SATS season is nearly upon us and I'm worried about my 11yo DS. He's normally a bright, happy boy and he has big ambitions for his future - he knows exactly what he wants to be "when he grows up" and also knows that he needs to work hard at school and pass his exams. In September he will be going to…

Treehouse staring into our living room
Hey I'm back with yet another moan about the local kids. I feel like such a Victor Meldrew these days :o Having sorted the issue with them coming into our back garden to play (another firmer word with the kids did the trick), all was peace and happiness. But new neighbours have moved in to the house that has the garden…

How to help my 11 Year old Daughter
I have felt tearful this morning taking my year 6 daughter to school. She seems to have no confidence and has been pretty miserable throughout her primary education. The school was driving distance and we moved into the village last year, so I hoped that would help and in some ways it has. She became friends with a girl…

Help me get some perspective on this!
I'm using an AE just incase family involved come on here... I know I'm probably being somewhat unreasonable but I'm annoyed and I'd like some perspective that may help me to calm down a bit and be more rational. Plus, I need to rant and get this out. OH and I have had a rotten couple of years and, due to a few issues we…

Should I warn my ex's GF about him?
Hi all, So this isn't a new break up we broke up in 2006 and i'll be honest at first I was a bit annoyed at this girl as she kept trying to win my boyfriend around at the time with "Presents" etc. I decided to dump him in a nice way as I was sick of all the lies etc. The whole time in our relationship he'd been speaking to…

Hi, my mother in-law is struggling to pay her mortgage and will lose her house soon. If she signs the house/mortgage over to her son and daughter will they be landlords/ladies? Would she have to pay rent and would they need to take out any landlord insurances etc???

Is a village hall wedding much cheeper than your average wedding venue?
Hi all, Me and OH are thinking about the future and hopefully getting married in the next few years. Have been looking at wedding venues before they are pricy don't get me wrong, but when you compare these to a village hall wedding I personally haven't found too much in it, when you consider decorating the venue-flowers,…
