Turned down by AA - what next ?
Just been turned down by the AA for a Car Loan. What should I do next ?. Try another 'cheap' lender or look to the much more expensive lenders who may have slightly more relaxed lending criteria. Any advise very welcome. Current car is knackered and has to be replaced with something very very soon. Thanks.

Net Salary or Total Remuneration?
Folks, my Net (contracted) Salary (albeit before tax is £27k), however once I have added my bonus, and pension contributions plus flexible benefits allocation, my total remuneration package is £36k. When applying for loans/mortgage, is it acceptable to use the larger figure - at the end of the day, if I opted out of my…

Cahoot Flexi Loan Interest Increase
I just received an email from Cahoot stating that because of the Bank of England's recent rise in interest, my loan's interest rate will increase from 13.08% to 14.9%. This is a considerable increase for me. My finances are particularly strained and I cannot afford any increase in my outgoings. Is there anything I can do?

Campaign to Force Companies to disclose reason for refusing credit
Hi All, Having been refused credit for the first time in my life recently (I have a very good record, and I'm an existing customer??), I feel that companies should be required legally to tell you precisely why they have done so, and give you the chance to correct it if appropriate. Whilst I accept that you have no right to…

I am a full time law student, working P/T - earning around £6000 a year. I am looking to borrow £2000 in addition to the grants and loans offered from the Student loan company - I will be in a position to repay this loan over 1-2 years... So will private loan companies consider students with a low income? If so, can anyone…

Could the banks break into my flat to recover debts whilst I'm in Oz
What happens if someone is out of the country and owes money to a bank. In my absence, could they go to the courts and get permission to break into my home and recover the debt? What's a 'Bailiff' as opposed to a debt collector? With any luck, I should be able to pay it all of before October, so this shouldn't be a…

Has a Natwest Error ruined my Credit Score?
I have been working on a Loan deal from Natwest, now when I initially applied I got a rate of 7% which was Ok with me, however I have come back from holiday and it appears they wrongly entered in some details, as a result, so I went back to the branch and they re-keyed (effectively re-applied) for the loan and guess what…
