financial associate impact on loan application

hi all,
wonder if anyone can advise...
OH is planning on a small loan to help him start a new business. Checked his credit report and all is ok, lovely green O's showing he's always up-to-date on his payments and over 900 score. My concern is that although our finances are totally separate and we have no joint accounts whatsoever, I am shown as a financial associate. I assume this came about when I applied for a loan and filled in the appropriate personal details regards marital status.
I am really worried that this will prejudice his application negatively as I am currently in arrears and struggling with my cc repayments on a self-managed debt management plan.
can anyone who works in the industry clarify this point for me please? Will lenders check my report too/have the authority to check my report also, if I am named as an associate, but we have no finacial products in joint names?
many many thanks in advance for your help
