Someone I know was sent a letter from tenantloans saying they had been accepted for an unsecured loan of £5000 paying back £110 pcm for 5 years. She thought it was brilliant offer and filled it in and sent off a fee of £49 to get priority proccessing. A letter came back saying she couldn't have the offer but she could have £3000 pcm for 5 years but she had to get a homeowner( they were queing round the block to sign) to guarantee the loan. She asked for her £49 back. After 5 weeks and many premium rate phone calls no sign of a refund, they say it can take 6 months to get a refund.

What an atrocious company!

Reading that thread doesn't seem to give the info or who to email unless I missed it.
  • I can't remember the email addy and don't know if I would be allowed to post it. But if you visit blagger.com and type in tenent loans in the company part, you will find a load of posts from disgruntled customers. If you look at them all there should be a post from the man in the company and he gives his email address. If you still can't find it then post again and I will see if I can find it and pm you with it.

  • Hi there, I know that this was posted a few months ago but thought I would post for the benefit of anyone who is searching for this in the future.

My name is James Benamor, I am the managing director of the company that owns Tenant Loans.

Tenant Loans specialises in helping customers who have been refused elsewhere to get accepted for the best loan that is avaliable to them. The APR that is quoted is always our typical APR- that is the APR that over 60% of our customers get.

Tenant Loans never use (and have never used) premium rate telephone numbers.

If any customer feels like they have recieved anything other than great service from Tenant Loans please contact me on james.benamor@postnet.uk.com. If I can not resolve your problem I will personally arrange a full refund for you.
  • very nearly ended up with a loan from these people, but came to my senses and canceled, they took the despiot anyway, and after emailing james benamor, as per his post, my despoit was refunded the same day!

if you are really in need of a loan then i personally wouldn't go near this company, i was assure 3 time on the phone by the "sales" team that the loan was gauranteed. delibetry ask 3 times, so as i was phoning from work it would be recorded, and 3 times it was confirmed yes the loan was garaunteed, all i had to do was pay my despiot and my loan would be in my account with 2-3 days.

wasnt happy when i phone back to speak to the customer service team, only to be on hold for nearly 40 mins, email the customer team, as per thier txt message and recorded IVR message. not a peep. and after googling the company name i stumbled upon this site, emailed james and hey presto got a call from the customer service dept, and my money was refunded in full back to my card.

All credit to james for his quick response, but he needs to work on his company customer service, and remember they fall under the FSA guidelines, and they are in breach of them by saying they gaurantee the loan, when what they mean is they will take your money and then give you the run around and if they do offer you a loan it will be a huge apr and not the amount you ask for.

i fully intend to pass this on to the Financial services authority to look at, along with the call recording to investiage a possible breach of the FSA rules

You will more than likely get more interest from Trading Standards than FSA, from reading other posts about FSA on these boards they really are very dire when it comes to protecting the customer and enforcing their own guidelines. The OFT may be a good idea too.
  • For what is happening - basically sending people a list of loans for a fee - does that have to be FSA regulated? Or how does he get around to be regulated in the first place?
