different ISAs opened in different years
I used to have an HSBC account with an ISA several years ago. The ISA has been empty for several years and hasn't had any activity. I now have an Nationwide account which my wages gets paid into. Last year (Apr 2012) I opened a Nationwide ISA and filled it with 5,340 but didn't close the inactive HSBC account. As it stands…

ISA from Halifax
I tried to open an ISA with the Halifax a month ago online. I was told I had to do it by telephone (my nearest branch is 40miles away). On the phone answering questions for half an hour. I appeared to be unknown to them even though I had an ISA with them three years ago. As requested sent documents through the post…

Ing transfer isa to nat west
I recently opened an e ISA with Nat West (reading through the other threads on here beginning to think I should've gone elsewhere!) and I sent off transfer forms for my Nationwide ISA and my ING ISA to be transferred. My Nationwide one transferred very quickly, within the 15 days and I then transferred in cash to cover…

Santander new ISA
Hi I recently transferred my ISA from Halifax to Santander, which the funds have now been transferred. I went online on Santander to see how easy it would be to transfer some cash back to my main bank account with Halifax (not that I need to... just checking). However, on the Santander website, whenever I select the option…

More NatWest dirty tricks
I saw the NatWest advert on TV offering 3.9% for a 2 year fixed rate ISA. This was for a transfer in from another provider with the basic, non transfer in rate of 3.5%. Luckily I was transferring in so I thought the offer was good and started the transfer process. This seemed to be going well via the Internet but then I…

ISAs longer than a year
Nationwide are offering a 14mth ISA. If I open it now then it will run into June 2013. Am I allowed to open a new ISA in April 2013, two months before? So I will have only opened 1 ISA in 2013 but could be technically paying into 2?

Opening multiple ISAs?
If you have 'opened' multiple ISAs , but not funded them (eg because Santander caused so much confusion, my wife has now opened, but not funded an AA cash ISA)...is this 'permitted'? Also can you open say 5 ISAs with different companies and fund 4 with 1k and one with 1640 GBP? TIA PS Many of my posting seem naive, but are…

Good? AA ISA for members!?
I was just about to assist my wife open the AA 3.5% ISA when I noticed that members could call for an "exclusive member access account". Great...another 0.5% perhaps for us members? No, an 18 month fixed rate account at 2.8%!!! Vigman

Will readers please respond to this post as if it were an Internet Trial with a finding of Guilty or Not Guilty? The first 12 votes will be used to determine the jury's finding. (No votes from members of the Financial Service Industry permitted.) I just discovered a Halifax Cash ISA I bought several years ago was paying a…

Halifax ISA Saver Online
Hi I've never had an ISA before as I've never had any spare cash to save until now. I have around £500 - £600 to put somewhere and I was thinking of the Halifax ISA Saver Online which is offering 3% interest including a bonus of 2.75% fixed for a year. Could someone please clarify 2 things for me: 1) Could I put my money…

Dumb question about Santander ISA transfer form
Hi all, I'm transferring a whole bunch of ISAs over to Santander and I have a question about their form. In the part where they ask you to fill in the account number of the existing ISA you're transferring, there are enough boxes to contain both the account number and the sort code. But they only ask for the account…

Old ISA accounts have been closed but no money showing in new ISA?
Hey Guys Basically, I have opened a new Santanda ISA and filled a transfer form for two of my ISA's to be closed and be transfered into my new Santanda account. I have checked my online banking and both accounts have now been closed and the money withdrawn. I have checked my Santanda online account and none of the money is…

More than 1 ISA
I invested £4,000 in an ISA with Birmingham Midshires early in this tax year. Shortly afterwards I got access to the other £1,640 and also invested that with BM. I was speaking to them on the phone about delayed letters, and mentioned in passing that this was my second account and was told firmly that I can't have two…

NatWest 1% Bonus e-ISA Interest Rates Changed
The 1% bonus e-ISA has just had the interest rates changed. Looking at the interest rates box I am confused. The bonus rates have DROPPED and are no longer 1% more than the standard rates? Can anyone confirm it has now lost the 3.5% bonus rate?

Bonus for a year
Hi, I'm thinking of transferring my Halifax ISA, but when I logged in expecting to see my current interest below 1% I was surprised to see it was still 3%. If I remember rightly I got a letter in March saying my interest would be dropping, so what's happened? Does the "bonus for a year" mean I get a bonus for 12 months…

Halifax ISA interest
Hi there, I have 3 ISAs with Halifax which I run on line. As of today, none of them have had any interest applied for the last year, is this the case for anyone else and should I ring them, or will next years interest be applied to the total as if this years interest had been applied on April 6th? Thanks

What does no transfer in mean?
My OH and I both have an ISA with the Nationwide which we have had for over a year and were recently informed that our bonus rate at 3.1% would carry on till August this year. Now I see that we could have one at 4.25% as we are joint flexaccount customers. Can we close these ISAs and reopen them at the new rate? Not really…
