different ISAs opened in different years

I used to have an HSBC account with an ISA several years ago. The ISA has been empty for several years and hasn't had any activity.
I now have an Nationwide account which my wages gets paid into. Last year (Apr 2012) I opened a Nationwide ISA and filled it with 5,340 but didn't close the inactive HSBC account.
As it stands have I done anything wrong since the HSBC ISA has been inactive for so long? If so what are the consequences of my actions?
What would happen if this fiscal year I went on to put £5k in each of my ISAs?
Thanks,

You haven't yet done anything wrong
But if you were to fund both in the current tax year one of them would be disqualified as an ISA0 -
HMRC do a check of the records of ISAs provided by the banks etc, to identify any duplicate ISAs in the same year.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

You havent done anything wrong, all you have to do is just either close the old ISA account or just completely forget about it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
