House move - one car insurance cheaper, other gone up?
We've moved to a new town. We have two cars insured with Admiral, both on single car policies. We changed the address, just as a mid-term amendment. All other policy details stayed the same - both still kept on a driveway overnight, annual mileage unchanged, etc. After admin fee, hubby got a small refund as his premium…

Hi, The better half had a car accident yesterday. Everything has been reported to insurance and police immediately. She says it's other drivers fault he says it's her fault. I will leave insurance companies to sort that out. The accident occurred in West Yorkshire and the young "gentleman" sounded like he was from West…

Anyone with experience of repeat claim for subsidence?
About 12 years ago after another particularly hot summer my terrace house showed signs of mild subsidence. Insurers investigated, diagnosed it was due to roots from tree in street outside, had tree pruned and put Council on notice that they would be liable for future damage if tree not regularly maintained. Patch repairs…

Two days ago, I tried to arrange insurance for my car. Debenham's gave the best quote so I went to their website and filled in the details. After supplying my debit card details I got a message saying that the payment had been rejected and I was dumped back to square one. After seeming to get nowhere I decided to go…

Cancellation of renewal notices
Is there anything being done to stop incumbent car insurance policy companies from automatically renewing your policy, using existing payment details from the last method of payment (debit card in my case) without having to phone them to proactively request then not to renew. Last week I renewed my insurance using a…

Rip Off Car Insurance
Hi I'm at my wit's end with my son's insurance policy, which was set up through Think Insurance. The policy is a 'Black Box' policy with an annual mileage limit, which has been exceeded on two occasions. I have had to purchase additional mileage at a scandalous rate - £300 for 1000 miles. I guess it's my own fault for…

Would you recommend LV for motor insurance?
LV come out very cheap on a comparison website for motor cover. However online reviews are mixed. On Trustpilot they seem awful but on Reevoo good - although with Reevoo they are really just the purchase experience. The real test is how they handle claims. Would be interested in your experience.
