Uninsured losses
Hi, I was involved in an accident a couple of weeks ago and my car has been written off. The other driver has accepted full liability and I've had the money for my car. But I've incurred about £85 worth if charges for the excess waiver on the courtesy hire car and parking as I have a permit which I couldn't use with the…

Home Contents, wear and tear deductions.
Hi. Our complete household goods went into storage in Feb. 2011 when we sold the house. In Dec. 2012 our goods were delivered to our new house, having been in storage for nearly two years. We found several items had been damaged either during removal or during storage, including a fridgefreezer, a carved wood bed frame and…

I work away during the week and am finding it difficult to get a realistic quote for car insurance based on 2 addresses - as soon as you say I live somewhere during the week and a different place at the weekend the underwriters say they won't insure 2 addresses. When I can get a quote it os >£2000 (versus £300 for just one…

Paying to end car insurance
My wife sold her car so we called 1st Central to cancel her policy after 10 months and I was expecting a small refund as we paid up front. Instead we are having to pay on top of this to end the insurance, which seems excessive to me, is this normal?

Stripped of No Claims after Multi Car policy with ex-partner
I'd really appreciate some feedback: My car insurance is due, with the cheapest quote coming in at over £600. I have been driving 10 years, with no claims, and my car is a 1.3 Jimny. The problem is my NCB was stripped when I split with my ex-partner 2 years ago; we were together 6 years but during the last year we had a…

I have been asked by my mum to look at renewing her house insurance. Her current provider, Aviva, is asking for £1100 annual premium. I went to Confused.com to get a quote. Hi, I recently signed up to Scottish Widows after a review and am now paying £42 a month to cover me and my family.
