indemnity insurance con
we are in the process of selling our house and our buyers solicitor keeps coming up with indemnity insurances for various things which we think are totally unnessesary. Firstly a lack of planning permission insurance for an extension that was clearly built pre 1987 and due to the size doesn't need planning anyway, then an…

Not at fault accident 50/50 settlement
Hi. A couple of months ago my wife was involved in an accident where another car hit the back of her motability car whilst she was stationary at traffic lights on a roundabout. I was a passenger in the car at the time. Whilst the bump wasn't severe, my wife has a medical condition that means she injures easily and she…

Insurance for Flat - Fitted Kitchen
I've just bought a flat in a small block and there is buildings insurance in place (paid for out of the service charge). I've seen a copy of the policy and it appears to cover the premises plus "all external and internal glass including sanitary fittings". However, it makes no mention of fitted kitchen units. I understand…

Is it worth getting car insurance in your own name if it's more expensive?
Hello My partner has never had his own car insurance (he's 36). We're about to get a second car. If he insures it in his own name, the cheapest quote is £330, if it's in my name it's £230. Is it worth insuring the car in his name? Our thinking was that if I keep getting the insurance in my name, he'll never accumulate any…

Is Contents Insurance valid while estate agents have a key?
Our flat is currently on the market to let as we are in the final month of our tennancy. The landlord has given a key to the estate agents (even though when we discussed this in person we said we would rather be present at viewings). Does anybody know whether this would invalidate our contents insurance? Thanks in advance,

Any car insurers beating renewal quotes?
Are there any current car insurers that will guarantee to beat you car insurance renewal quote? I know Barclays and a few others have done this in the past but can't find anyone doing it now. My renewal price happens to be cheapest option after getting quotes again so would be pleased if someone could beat it :)

Car Insurance with Admiral
We have 2 cars within the household and I spoke to Admiral about their "milti car" policy. Although the two cars are to be renewed on different dates, the guy from admiral suggested that getting a quote for both today would allow me to get a cheaper insurance on the policy which is about to be renewed and there is no…

Problems with Swinton
I dont want to turn this into a huge essay, but apologies if that's how it ends up. Basically a couple of weeks ago i rang Swinton to see about switching the car on my policy (fact finding mission prior to buying the car). They informed me it would cost me £16 to switch. Great i thought! so i went ahead and bought the car…

Help! Ongoing claim + car insurance renewal.
Bear with me. As a fairly new driver who has never had to deal with insurance claims before these may appear stupid questions. A couple of weeks ago I had a very minor prang. Long story short I rear ended someone. Totally my fault and the other party would've been happy to settle between us as the damage was very minor but…

Car Insurance Quotes are insane
Hi all, I've been offered a room, sharing in a lovely house in the country but unfortunately, not within walking distance of where I work and there is no public transport nearby. It would save me about £500 a month and it is beautiful so I'm eager to take advantage of it. No one that lives there works in the direction I do…

Non fault accident.
My car was hit on Friday by a third party whilst parked in a resident bay. (Partner had used it to visit her mother.) She came out to find a note on the car "Sorry about the car. Ring (his number). She duly contacted the other driver who was keen for his 'mate' to do the repairs to our car so it "wouldnt affect our no…

Car Insurance in Europe
The car is currently insured with Axa who, for a charge, will let us add European cover but only for a short amount of time. We're planning on taking the car to Europe for anything from 6-12 months, possibly longer if finances allow. The problem is finding someone who will insure us across different countries for that…
