Car Insurance with Admiral

We have 2 cars within the household and I spoke to Admiral about their "milti car" policy. Although the two cars are to be renewed on different dates, the guy from admiral suggested that getting a quote for both today would allow me to get a cheaper insurance on the policy which is about to be renewed and there is no obligation to change the existing policy to Admiral at the time of renewal.
I just wanted to know if the latter was true and I do not have to shift to Admiral for the second policy? If I don't, will I keep my existing price?
Anyone used them before? Any problems? Help is appreciated, thanks in Advance.

There's no obligation to use them just because they've given you a quote.0

But I don't understand how they are offering the discount on my existing policy. Would the discount of my existing policy be removed and I be subject to pay the discount previously given?0 -
If you accept the terms of the multi car policy on the 1st car, you effectively get a discounted premium. If you don't add the 2nd car you will lose this discount and you will need to repay the difference.
That's the only catch as far as I can see.0 -

The guy on the phone seemed to suggest you wouldn't lose this discount... Anyone been in the same situation? The second policy is coming out £400 more expensive compared to my existing quote.0 -

I would double check with them. Losing the discount on the first car is definitely as I understand it and was told by Admiral when I took ours out last year.0 -
I'd double check the figure for the 2nd car. It seems strange that is so much more than your current quote as my experience is that Admiral are around the cheapest. BTW you can do an admiral multicar quote on line you know so you can work out the cost and play what-if with the options.
I can't see why admiral would give you a discount for a 2 car policy if you fail to take out the second insurance. If you want to just insure the one car you could go to elephant which is the same company as admiral.0
