Ceiling leak: plastic pipe coming down the roof
Hello, I have just come from abroad. During myabsence , the ceiling
of my bathroom leaked. My neighbour checked the source of the leak and informed
me that it was due to the ventilation
pipe from my bathroom, up to a roof
opening. He put a set of cloth to cease the leak. I went up to the attic as it was leaking

Half of attic wet - HELP!
I was in the attic to sort out the Christmas decorations and one side of the attic is wet, going up the walls - it looks dark on the wood there too. I had seagull trouble a couple of years ago and had a hole fixed. I'm not sure why it is wet or where from - lots of papers up there are damp too. Can anyone tell me the steps…

TRV’s
We’ve recently bought a Victorian terrace and would like to have more control over the heating in the rooms we use most/least. We’ve had Hive installed and are now considering upgrading the (really old) TRV’s with new ones. We’ve had a few tradesmen around and some of them have commented that we have 10mm pipes leading…

Options for outside electric heating.
Hi. Asking for someone who has a small patio area and would like a small heater to take out to allow a little extension to their evening. Electric property, only top element working not bottom (water tank) - is there any issue with that?
Hi there, I'm moving into a new place, and have been sorting out a few things (as per a couple of other threads). One thing that seems the case during the refurb is the hot water is barely warm so there's an issue with the bottom element. I know I read somewhere that water needs to be heated to 60 deg for safety but is…

Looking for home extension advice please
We have sent some emails out to architects i think this is where I'm meant to start? We are hoping to get a 2 storey extension next year, adding a reception room and bedroom. This isnt something either of us would be able to navigate or design without an architect I think. The only that has replied has said there's a fee…

Fast pressure drop in central heating system.
My oil fired central heating pressure is constantly dropping to zero within about 15 mins of using a filling loop to raise it to 1 bar. There is no discernable sign of where all this water is going as there are no damp patches anywhere. Would/should normal house insurance pay for an investigation? Thanks, Brian

Slow running sink
We have a little bathroom in our loft conversion. The sink in there has a tendency to run slowly towards blocking. I've added a pipe clip to hold the pipe on the wall straight, I've cleaned out the sink trap and adjusted that as best I can. The only thing that has worked is using 'Buster' plughole un-blocker regularly and…
