Socket Solution for this

Options
Hi just finishing my treadmill setup and a couple of the socket cable lengths are not long enough. Anyone know a good solution for the this. I was thinking a socket tower but could not find one that was adjustable or tall enough. Any ideas?

Fix the socket strip to the wall behind the screen?

Some socket strips have "keyhole" slots in the back, so you can hang them on a couple of screws in the wall.  But not all do.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

    Masterplug 13A 4-Gang Unswitched Extension Lead 1m
this one has them (see the video at SF). However, it's 1m long and will have to be fixed below the screen.

    this one is 2m

Can you fit the multi plug to the back of the running machine?

Can you swap the mains cables for longer ones or are they hard wired into the back of the equipment?
  • I think your own idea, Pierremont, is along the right lines. Either a 'strip'-type multisocket mounted on the wall at a height that hides it behind the treadmill - you could even attach it with double-sided adhesive pads if you didn't want to drill in to the wall - or else a 'squat' style of tower which you can sit on a suitable small stool/ vase-stand thingy in the corner.

And I'd choose one that's 'switched' so's you can isolate power as desired.

I’d spur off the socket and put a socket behind the TV. Cable could either be run in the wall (if it’s a cavity) or just in some trunking. Would probably look neater than having an extension fixed to the wall.

Agree with this, assuming that socket isn't an unfused spur already. It'd be straightforward to have another socket at TV height above that socket you've already got, with the wire conceded in trucking.
