Acrylic Sealant for Laminate Floors
Hi I'm trying to find some suitable sealant for my laminate floor. I don't like the silicone sealant, as it has a satin finish to it. I am looking at acrylic based sealants. Does anyone know if they have a matte finish to them? Thanks.

I've just had a combi boiler fitted, and this has enabled me to finally put my mixer shower/bath tap to use (previously on the previous boiler, the water pressure was too low, so haven't been able to shower since it was purchased 7 years ago!), but was told by the plumber that i may need to replace the shower head as it…

Boring old parking issues with neighbours
We live in a private close with designated visitor parking. Each house has their own garage (mostly double) and those that have single garages have a drive in front of it. It's a strange layout as it used to be a farm and so the boundaries of properties are a bit haphazard. The bedroom accommodation in our property is…

Cheapest way to put up curtain pole
We are looking to put up curtains to cover the eaves in our loft. I've bought half a dozen cheap poles from ikea and would like to hear thoughts on the cheapest way to hang them. They will attach to the wooden beams in the loft and the pole itself will run behind a horizontal beam so it doesnt matter what it looks like.…

Gap between bath and floor
Picking up on a thread from 2005, we have recently renovated our bathroom, but the bath has been raised too high and there is now a significant gap between the lino floor and the base of the bath cover. The bath is curved, and cover is white plastic. We can't get the bath lowered again easily as we've had tiling put all…

My party wall agreement options?
So the people next-door have served us a party wall notice so they can do their loft extension. I have no objection as such, but I have also just submitted plans for a loft extension and was about to serve a PW notice on them. So a few days ago I emailed them to suggest that we take photos of eachother's walls, I submit an…

Damp Proof Course Guarantee Transfer Cost
Hi, I have recently bought my first property. The previous owners had a damp proof course installed which we have the guarantee for but need to transfer it. On calling Timberwise (who undertook the work) they have told me it will cost £120 (including VAT) to transfer it into my name. Is this cost reasonable? Why is it so…

Installing new plug sockets
I'm planning on moving all my AV equipment under the stairs. The problem is that there's no power points under the stairs at the minute. I'll be getting an electrician in to install some new sockets, but I'm wondering how many sockets to put in. I need at least 10 plug points. I'm guessing it's a better idea to install…

Window latch problem
Hello, I have 'inherited' a window which has a broken latch. This is the type of window that opens inwards from the side (like most windows) but also, if you turn its handle upwards, locks the bottom latches and opens a bit from the top. The bottom latch seems to have broken, so it doesn't secure when the handle is upwards…

Do we need plans?
We're planning an extension, under permitted planning allowance, of 3m x 2m. We've submitted a Building Notice and tThe council has approved it based on just a hand drawn sketch. Do we also need architect drawings for this? A builder has given us a quote just based on the size and the sketch.
