Window latch problem

Hello,
I have 'inherited' a window which has a broken latch. This is the type of window that opens inwards from the side (like most windows) but also, if you turn its handle upwards, locks the bottom latches and opens a bit from the top.
The bottom latch seems to have broken, so it doesn't secure when the handle is upwards (the whole window is then secured with only one latch!!).
Does anyone know what these windows are called and whether/where I can buy this latch on its own? If it helps I have a photo, but the forum won't let me post it as I'm a new user.
Many thanks in advance!

They are called Tilt and Turn windows.
I can't help with the parts, but there are usually window and door repair companies in most areas. The one near me is called Door Doctor. If you think you can handle the job they can probably supply the part, or supply and fit if not.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Many general builders will also be clued up on repairing windows too.0

Brilliant, thank you! Now I know what they are called, I can try and source the part that's broken and fix it on my own. It should be pretty straightforward - my only worry is the screws on the wooden frame, but I could try to move (or glue...) them if they don't screw back on.
Thanks so much!0
