Cheapest way to put up curtain pole

We are looking to put up curtains to cover the eaves in our loft. I've bought half a dozen cheap poles from ikea and would like to hear thoughts on the cheapest way to hang them. They will attach to the wooden beams in the loft and the pole itself will run behind a horizontal beam so it doesnt matter what it looks like.
The standard type of curtain pole bracket would be a) unneccesaily expensive and b) would stick out too far. I just want a no frills solution to fix the pole.
I've come across both pipe brackets and P clips. Do you think these would work? Is there anything better? Here's a pic to show you what I mean. The red Xs mark where it would be fixed to and there are 6 'sections' like this that we want to do. Thanks!

You don't say the diameter of the pole, what about something like this:

Sorry - i linked to it, it's 19mm at the wider end and 16mm at the shorter (it's telescopic you see).
The problem with those cup hooks as the pole wouldn't stay in place ?Increasingly money-conscious

The cheapest curtain poles I've done have been bog standard tubing from B&Q, and a couple of wooden blocks with holes the same diameter as the poles for them to slide into attached to the wall. Jubilee clips stop everything you don't want to slide sliding around.0

Do they need to be opened? If not you could just staple them to the beam.0
-
If you want them to work like curtains then some kind of u-bracket would suffice.0
-
Or you could use old school curtain rails with sliders. These only sit 10 or 20mm off the surface they are fixed to.0
-
You could even use some cheapy bathroom roller blinds.0
