Recently bought a solid walled end terrace. Terrace has suspended floor and lime mortar. I went under the floor to investigate a strange smell only to discover water (max 2 inch deep) covering about a third of the floor void. While under the floor I noticed water seeping through the wall. I then went outside and started to…

Hi the pressure on my combi boiler is really high,it's between 3-4 (should be 1-1.5). After reading online I bled the radiators and the pressure came down right away and I was able to get the heating on with no problems. I checked it about half an hour later and it's went back up to just below 4! I'm really not sure what…

Burglar alarm only uses movement sensors? Wire to door?
Hi all, We moved into a new build property recently and there is a Veritas burglar alarm system installed. Apparently the system only uses the movement sensors (the ones in the corner of each room with a little red dot!). It does not recognise when a door is opened/closed. Is there any way (in principle) of modifying it so…

Builder damaged personal items
I'm after a little advise please. We recently moved into a brand new house, we paid to have the washer/dryer from them too. To cut a long story short, the workmen didn't fit the waste correctly and it ended up flooding our garage. As we had just returned from holiday we had all our gear in the garage, obviously putting up…

Roman blind length
A question to any people with roman blinds. For a blind fitted to the wall (ie not in thr recess) does the drop typically end at the window sill or would you extend it a couple of cm longer? We are thinking of getting one and SWMBO says it should be about level with the sill sand I think it should completely hide it. Thanks
