I have a concrete shed base already build in my garden. I suppose I still need a wooden base and wooden floor as given in this link "Choose your Floor" and "Choose your Base option". Has anyone had a sun/light tube installed? We live in a bungalow and want to divide one large room into 2 smaller ones, but as there are no windows at one end, we need to get light in somehow - I'm not keen on the traditional velux type roof lights. There's quite a lot of information on the web from manufacturers sayng how…

Thermostat - max temperature
Hi there, I have a friend that has bought a house and rented some of the rooms out to students. The house was old when she bought it and she upgraded the heating system to a combi-boiler. Now the one change she noticed was that rather than a timer-based system to heat the hot water tank, the water is on demand as is the…

Pine cladding
We've recently moved home. The room we're planning to make our study currently has 2 walls covered in untreated pine cladding. I have no objection to cladding but do know from previous experience it darkens with age when varnished. This room has only a very small window so really want to make the room bright and cheerful…

Slight Leak From Heated Towel Rail
Hi I've got a heated towel rail in the bathroom - I've never used it in 7 years, and to be honest don't think it even works. However, it's recently started leaking slightly from the nut that you find just above the temperature adjuster (similar to a radiator.) I've seen Youtube videos where they easily fix a similar…

What paint do the trade use for internal white woodwork
Must have been asked a thousand times but as products are allways being dumbed down it seems, what used to be best probably now isn't. I've just wasted a morning attempting to gloss the kitchen. The 5 year old solvent based white was a dirty shade of cream, so giving up on sb unless anyone knows of a non whitening…
