Shower pump issues/questions

Options
Hi there,

Many thanks for viewing this post. I have a Stuart Turner Shower Mate 1.5bar twin shower pump. For the last year or so it has developed an issue that when my tap is mid way to allow a nice temperature whilst having a shower, the pump starts pumping would be the best term for it.
The pump works intermittently in short bursts. Turn it hotter or colder and the flow resumes evenly and normally. Hence when it comes to shower time you either freeze or have your skin peeled off.
Ususal story of guests coming for Christmas hence the post.
First of all does a fix sound possible? I assume in my non plumbing way that the showere pump over the years has become limescaled (v heavy limescale area) and is knackered!
Time to buy a new or could a fix be a possibility?

Many thanks.

Have you cleaned out the filter washers in the hoses where they join the pump? That does the trick sometimes.
