builder/carpenter charges
I have a house that needs a lot of work. Fiddly stuff, such as replacing and/or repairing architraves and skirting boards etc. I have a quote of £130 inc VAT per day from a semi-retired builder who now only takes on smaller jobs. Is this the going rate? Should I expect further bills on top for screws, nails, wood etc?

Opinion on Boiler
Hi, I need to replace a small boiler for a 1 bed flat. Has only 3 radiators, one shower and a couple of sinks to look after. The plumber has suggested Valliant or Worchester Bosch 24kw option. I think he is saying the Valliant is better. Any opinions, and what should I be asking? I am not overly fussed on either one, just…

Advice on Trickle Vents on New House UPVC Windows
Wasn't sure where to post this ! We moved into a new house in June2010, when it started getting colder we closed the trickle vents on all the windows but still have a draught coming through them. Stacking Kitchen Wall Cabinets
We are remodeling our kitchen and hope to put in plenty of storage. Although it's just a wee space (about 3m x 2.5m), the ceilings are a decent height (2.7m). We really want to see if we can make full use of the height with some wall units that go right up (I can't really afford to lose any worktop space by going for…
