Rented Property - Moving out

for the last two academic years i have rented a property with three friends near university. in a few months time i finish and we are leaving the property. when we moved in we put a 300 pound damages deposit down to which we can get back if the landlords are happy with the state property.
we have had no parties and caused no structural damage however we have a gut feeling they are out to get as much of our deposit as possible, but i needed to move into my own place.
any hints and tips i can use so that they dont charge us for'professionals' to come in to do what they think we missed??

Was there an inventory signed by both sides at the start? Do you have a copy?
You will need to clean anything and everything. Don't forget plugholes, cupboards, carpets, toilet, oven. Hiring a carpet cleaner may be worthwhile. Remove any scuff marks from paint or walls.
If you've put pictures up, repair any holes in the walls unless you had written permission to do so.
I'm sure others will have further suggestions.0 -
clean the place properly. and take photos. get an independant witness if required, as to the state of the place.
basically you need to hand the property back in the same condition as you leased it.
remember, you are allowed fair wear and tear.Get some gorm.0 -

Yes we signed an inventory with a few pictures of damage that was already in the property on the date we moved in. we pretty much havent moved any thing and as far as we are aware (although i speak for myself with my own bedroom) have cause no damage.
a friend of mine has a vax carpet cleaner which i am planning to use for the bedrooms and a power washer to wash the drive and patio outside.
hopefully this should be enough!
