Stacking Kitchen Wall Cabinets

We are remodeling our kitchen and hope to put in plenty of storage.
Although it's just a wee space (about 3m x 2.5m), the ceilings are a decent height (2.7m).
We really want to see if we can make full use of the height with some wall units that go right up (I can't really afford to lose any worktop space by going for larder units).
I estimate then that the height of the wall units would be about 1.2m give or take a couple of cm.
Rather than paying a premium for custom made units, I wonder if anyone out there has experience of mixing and matching different combinations of wall units from the usual suspects mentioned on this board (Howdens, Magnet Trade, benchmarx, wren etc).
Any tips or warnings greatly appreciated.

With wall units 1.2m high, will they actually be useable? Will you be constantly getting on and off steps to gain access?0

Thanks.
Plan would be to try to be sensible and not put anything that's needed on a daily or even weekly basis out of reach.0 -

We're thinking along the same lines. There are some things - like Christmas stuff - that isn't needed very often and it would be useful not to have them cluttering up lower cupboards.0 -
No issues at all with doing this. I've done it on lots of kitchens in the past. Either using 900mm high wall units, or 720mm wall units with 300mm topboxes above.0
