gas cooker to electric?

I am looking to change my gas cooker (free standing ) to an electric one. saw one in argos, phoned argos and they said it doesnt come with connector leads as it must be connected by a qualified electrician who would supply them. my new kitchen was fitted 8 months ago so I know the electric cooker point is up to date. where would I be able to buy this lead and would it be easy to do myself. Any advice gratefully recieved, thankyou

That should tell you how to install all you would need is quite heavy duty flex or the appropratly rated cable for the cooker itself which it should say.0 -
If you have a cooker point and cooker with the cable connected can you connect it yourself? would it make a difference if the cable wasn't connected. I ask because it appears that you can replace an existing item eg electric shower or socket, but carry out a brand new installation?0

You would have to check that the cabling is the right type depending on the cooker.0 -
i dont have anything at the moment, OH says he can do it (has done them before) but he has just had an operation and I dont want him to even attempt it, thought if it was quite simple I would do it myself, it seems getting the right cable will probally be most of the problem. thanks for all your advice:)0
