More guttering problems!
Its a long and most boring story but I have had on-going issues with my guttering. A couple of months ago I had my guttering cleared as it was blocked and leaking etc. Then when it rained the water was obviously collecting more efficiently and there was obvious sagging, dripping and overflow. So I got my guttering…

The new fitting simply has L/N/E. The house was re-wired when I bought it 10 years ago, so I can't remember if junction boxes were involved. The upstairs…

Condenser Tumble Dryer leaking
My Creda tumble dryer is leaking a small amount of water from the back. Most of the water is going into the water container but a (relatively) tiny amount is leaking onto the floor. I called a repair man about a month ago who ckecked on the filters and said they were fine. He then said i'd need to empty the container…

Freezer Economy Question
We have kindly been given an upright freezer to replace our chest freezer that had gone faulty. It is a lot bigger than the three quarter size we were told it would be. (I think they meant three quarters of the way to the ceiling!) Saying that, it seems a lot quieter than our much smaller one, in fact incredibly quieter.…

Stinky kitchen sink/pipes
Our kitchen sink has been smelling for a while as soon as the taps are turned and water flows down the drain. A fortnight ago DH (who is quite DIY minded) took the pipework apart under the sink and cleaned it all out, it was quite gunky and revolting but he got them clean as best as he could. The problem hasn't gone away,…

How do I renew a Pine table?
In the house I have just bought there is a pine table about 20-30 years old. The top is badly marked with rings and scratches but the table is a good size and I have decided to try and renew it. I can sand the top to a good surface but what do I do then? Should I varnish, wax or oil it? Any ideas?

Rotten Wooden Frames
I have replaced all my windows in my flat so have eliminated much of the rotten wooden frames. However my bedroom window still has a wooden external ledge (the rest are stone or concrete). is my dishwasher dying?
Hi there, my Bosch dishwasher is 15 years old now & has been fine over all this time. Recently, however, I have had a brown, salty-like substance over everything left at the end of the wash which means that I have needed to wash it all by hand. I have changed from tablets to powder to see if this would help, but after a…
