Central Heating Issue
I have a fairly old boiler in my house. (2 bed terrace) when we moved in we gutted the whole house apart from the central heating system. It was in full working order but we had to drain it to replace a few dodgy valves on a few rads. The plumber who drained it simply turned of the supply to the feed tank and then opened…

chainsaw oil and cheapest decent one
Hi I have a Stihl petrol chainsaw and you mix petrol with oil for its fuel but you also have to buy another oil that goes in another chamber which is what lubricates the cutting chain etc. I looked in homebase and this stuff is £5.99 for one litre. I'd obviously rather pay less for it but I would like to buy it in a bigger…

Cold Water Tap making horrible noise
My in-laws have a cold tap that makes a horrible clunking noise, not all the time, but when it's been idle for a few hours (e.g. over night). They've had a plumber to it twice now, the first time he changed the washer in the cold tap (the hot doesn't have this problem) and then it was fine for a while but then the noise…

Bathroom colour matching
I have decided ( with OH's permission of course:D) to have a new bathroom. About matching I have got conflicting opinions. Some say it is safe to select items from different brochures, others say it is dangerous because there may be a mismatch. To me white is white is white, so what is general opinion of my friends here,…

Boiler advice needed please
Thinking of having a new boiler fitted, but not sure what type to get. The one we have is at least 15 years old,so I'm assuming that a new one will help cut the ridiculous gas bills we've been having. At the mo we have a boiler plus water tank, but I was wondering if a combi would make sense? If I didn't need the water…
