Bathroom colour matching

I have decided ( with OH's permission of course:D) to have a new bathroom.
About matching I have got conflicting opinions. Some say it is safe to select items from different brochures, others say it is dangerous because there may be a mismatch. To me white is white is white, so what is general opinion of my friends here, please?

We ordered a ceramic pack (toilet and basin) and a seperate bath. The bath will be made of different material anyway (steel. plastic or cast iron?).
I think I remember asking in the shop about colour diferrences and was told that they have a standard colour. I may have been dreaming this though;)0 -
I would say there are definately different whites... depends on wether you are that fussy or not some people would just go with it and put up with a small difference whereas others would throw up their hands in horror at a tiny difference.....maybe you would be better to go and look in person than selecting from a catalogue that way you can see the differences yourself and decide wether you can live with it...
EDIT: I just checked my bathroom and although bath and basin look the same, the cistern on the toilet definately looks a more grey white.... can't say I ever noticed before though so its not a problem.....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I would agree with tanith, there are definately different shades of white between manufacturers of sanitary ware. It gets even worse with ceramic wall tiles - where the colour differences can be VERY noticeable.
