Automatic door closer - anyone got one?
I'm looking at getting a door closer for the kitchen door. The door isn't heavy but has a draft excluder which creates some friction when closing. Does anyone have one of these? Does the power size just mean the rate at which it'll close the door?

New cooker
At present we have have a built-in dual fuel single cooker. Next year we're planning on getting a nice, new shiny cooker. I've been looking at getting a freestanding one instead as there seems to be much more choice and I would like a double oven. How easy would it be to install a freestanding one instead as bits of the…

New doors being fitted.
Hi all, I have decided to change the interior doors of my parents house. Looking at the doors it should not be too complicated to change as I image I will lay the old doors next to the new ones, mark up, chip away and off I go. Any how I was wondering, the frames of all the3 doors will be white but the doors, a natural…

Elka Laminate Floor Versus Quickstep 800?
I've ordered Elka laminate floors in a local store in Glasgow (Harvest Oak). I was told they're similar to Quickstep Eligna 800 Harvest Oak, only cheaper. http://www.laminateflooring2u.co.uk/index.html?lang=en-uk&target=d19.html It *does* seem identical, on that site they even use the same picture! Or am I being taken in…

Towel Rail
To fit a shower screen, I had to remove the towel rail. However, we'd like to keep the towel rail so I'm looking for the best/easiest way to shorten it. It's a single rod with threads at either end onto which small metal ball screw on once it's slipped into the 2 holders. I could saw one end of but then how do I re-attach…

Replacement gas boiler _ help!
We're having to replace our 5 yr old condensing system boiler (Vokera) as the heat exchanger is cracked & there have been other problems with it. Consumer Rights with Broken Telly
In November 2001, I bought a Phillips TV from Currys. I also bought an extended 2 year warranty which obviously has now expired. However, a couple of weeks ago the television decided to have a mind of it's own and switch itself off mid viewing. The tv would then turn itself back on and this would go on for about 5 minutes…

Slim-line kitchen bin?
Evening all. Your challenge - should you choose to accept it - is to find me a kichen bin, which will fit into the only space I have available for it. I need a flip-top bin no wider than 23cm, but the narrowest one I've been able to find is 26cm - which would only get bashed ever time anyone opens the door... The one we…
