I assume that i need to switch to a buy-to-let agreement but will I get into serious trouble if i just go ahead and rent it without telling them? My mortgage is currently so low that i'm reluctant to…

Would you trust the valuation on a sellers Home Report?
I have looked at a house in Scotland which I can get at 8% below the valuation on the home report. The question is: can I trust that the surveyor gave a realistic figure of the current price of the house or will they have inflated it as a bargaining tool for the seller? My solicitor has said that the valuation should be…

My Home-Moving Diary - Shared Ownership!
Right, well I thought I would do this as it may help a few people who are on here in my situation. Basically, we purchased a 50% share in a Shared Ownership property in July 2007 (I know I know, the worst time to buy - but we ddin't know that at the time). Back then myself and my wife weren't perticularly financially savvy…

What is the service charge for?
Just looking at renting flats and a few of them include a service charge, not a clue what this is for, does it cover anything such as bills? And why don't they just include it in the rent in the first place if you have to pay it. One I am looking at is for £70 per month (1 bed flat), is that excessive?

Would you complain?
Ok, managed to get a mortgage *yay*, found a place, put a reservation fee down. Told the mortgage was 90% loan to value, so I had the 10% deposit there ready to use. Everything went through with the property and its now going through the completion stages. My mortgage adviser phoned me up the other week to say 'it's all…

OWNHOME - Anyone with info/feedback?
I have my interview with ownhome next week. I had an offer from Mychoice home buy but they only offered me a total of £130k to buy with and frankly, I would be living in the very roughest part of town. So I am hoping perhaps ownhome would offer more? I earn £25k - anyone in a similar situation? It would be great to be…
