Anywhere I can place a free ad for rental flat?
Hi all Does anyone know of any websites where I can list my property for rent without cost? I am currently advertising it local in shop windows, on workplace intranet and free ad local news. Our local major newpaper costs £80 to advertise for 1 issue which is far too steep. Any suggestions welcome. Many thanks in advance

How reliable is "how much does it sell for"!!
The estate agent sent me a brochure for a house at £269,950. I checked the "how much did it sell for" website and a semi-detached sold in September 2005 sold for £235,000. Do ES delibarately over price the property expecting propective buyer to bargain a bit? The EA is also selling brochures of houses under offer which I…

Competition
We're putting our house on the market. The EA valued it at the same price as an almost identical property on the same frontage as us. Ours is mid-terrace and better presented inside and out, their's is end terrace so has a bigger garden (ie a side bit). He advised to sell at the same price to 'prevent a competition'. We're…

Is owning a leasehold property still like having your own home?
We're hoping to move into a leasehold flat which is currently owned by my father-in-law. It's a detached house converted into 2 flats. They will live above. There will be no ground/maintenance charges as any work will be done jointly by my husband and my father-in-law. However as I've always lived in a freehold property,…

Do estate agents really want to sell houses?
I rang about 25 last week to re-register as still looking. I have had 6 send me details through the post, and heard nothing from the others. I wasn't asking for the moon either. Do they want to sell me a house?

Selling house soon - nightmare...
I want to move house - there's nothing essentially wrong with the house (only 28 years old) but it looks a bit tired. I want to move towns, hence the move, and we don't have any problem neighbours, disputes, or plans afoot to bulldoze the land and build another Tesco on it. Honestly - what's the house market doing at the…

What to tell Estate Agents?
Hello I am new. I am looking to buy my first house and am unsure how much to tell estate agents in the area I am looking with regard to how much I can afford. I can afford up to £200k, but do I tell estate agents that I can afford this, because I may be able to get a house advertised at that price cheaper. If the EA knows…

Survey on 5 year old house (still under NHBC warranty)
My parents are about to put an offer in on a house which has 5 years NHBC warranty left. They are cash buyers so won't need to have a survey done for a building society. Is it necessary to get a survey done on this kind of house or will the NHBC cover any problems? Thanks
