It is eviction from a council property or private?
  • well if there not paying the rent or damaging the property then they have every right to be evicted

They need to get independent advice immediately. Tell them to go to their local Citizens advice bureau or Shelter. Alternatively Shelter have an excellent website at shelter.org.uk but this wont be able to give them detailed advice. If they really have been sent a notice seeking possession they need to do this asap. Ignoring it won't make it go away. HTH and good luck.

Unfortunately that won't necessarily stop the eviction, and if they haven't the money or means to pay it back borrowing won't help, cause there's always next month. Tell them to go to the CAB office if they can for advice, there is help around, but like mentioned previously if notice hasn't been served then they still have a bit of time as reasonable time needs to be given if no actual time is given in the lease agreement.

    Good luck
