Anyone else find it scary?

Hi guys,

Feel like I have been waiting just about forever for the exchange to happen on the house I want to buy....looks like it may be this Friday! As well as being really excited I am now absolutely petrified!

It seems like its all pay out now! The mortgage, the life insurance, the buildings and contents insurance.....the list is endless!!!!!

Did anyone else get this scared feeling when it finally came to exchange?

Yes Absolutely all I could think about was " I have forgotten something really important" but I hadn't and it all went perfectly on the day .... except I found 10 dresses still hanging in one end of the built in wardrobes that the lady had simply missed........ she picked them up weeks later..... and we got great enjoyment out of the snooker table that they never ever came back for......

    Good Luck

regarding money my partner and i just moved and the best thing we found to do regarding finances is this

get a diary or calender and right down when direct debits are due to start coming out for insurance etc first mortgage payments and any cheques you have sent then every day go to the bank and check what money has come out etc this facilitiy is available with halifax as a mini statement but i don't know about other banks

then you know exactly where you are, we did this and last weeekend realised i was only £5 out with calaculations and we had been away for a break (don't think thats bad) but instead of going into the overdraft and being charged i just put a tenner from my purse into the account to cover it and everything was fine

it also highlighted a problem that direct debits for life assurance were too low, now most people wouldn't say anything but if something were to happen and they wouldn't pay out was a risk i was not willing to take so i called them, this way you know where and when money is supposed to be going
Well we finally did it got a house not on a main road, next a railway line or any other werid and wonderful things that get on my nerves!!!

I just find the whole thing a huge hassle. I want to get out of the house I'm in, and in to a lovely new one somewhere better, but I wish there was a way of getting someone else to do the horrid stuff for me.

Maybe there's a gap in the market for someone who could do all the legwork, deal with the solicitors for you, harass estate agents on your behalf, and generally only bother you when they need a signature...
I may be skint but at least I'm Relentlessly Positive! :D

It is all very scary. But what I have found helps, is to "look at the big picture". We have a lovely home, and even though we look forward to moving, even if it all falls through we still have a roof over our heads and no one can ever tell us to leave until we are ready!

Losing your dream house is disappointing, but sometimes it's just not meant to be. A better one will come along.

Anyway, that's what I keep telling myself :)

Hassle hassle hassle of it. I couldnt bear to do conveyancing if it was the last job on earth. Bits of papers everywhere, and annoying phone calls all day.

Im dreading moving, although I know we should, and I want to. But i simply cant be mithered with the whole process. I am designating my job to finding a new place surfing the internet! Hope OH likes dealing with solicitors!!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...

To true, almost 6 months of my life have been taken up soo far...

We NEED, we are lucky we have a roof over our heads this is true and something Im greatful for BUT the new house will be a new start for us, which we really do need.

Good luck and hugs to those that need it.
